As is so often the case these days, my sleeping schedule has been pretty strange lately. I attempted to fix it by staying up for 24 hours, but I didn't quite make it. I fell asleep at around 6 PM (about 4 hours short of my goal) and then woke up about 6 hours later, understandably not too refreshed. I remembered that I'd promised to get up and play Titan Quest for a little while if I woke up in time, so I did that. After playing for two hours or so, I was ready to pass out again.
At this point, I was around 2:30 AM. I started watching Voyboy's stream and fell asleep probably within an hour. Evidently, my body decided I needed to catch up on all the sleep I'd lost, because I didn't wake up again until 5:30 PM, a full 15 hours later. I am understandably disoriented after sleeping for such a long time, but I guess I'm refreshed? I'm definitely hungry, that's for sure.
I'm probably going to play some more Titan Quest tonight once my friend gets off work, but until then I'll probably watch Voyboy's stream (I slept for so long that he's streaming again) and possibly check out Gungnir. It's a strategy RPG developed by Sting, responsible for some other favorites of mine like Riviera: The Promised Land and Knights in the Nightmare. They're known for quirky games with fun and complex mechanics, so I'm sure I'll like it. If I get far enough into it tonight, I'll probably talk about it tomorrow.
Titan Quest has been pretty solid, as predicted, but it's not jumping out at me as quite as immediately fun and engaging as Path of Exile or even Torchlight II. I really do like how the skill trees are set up, but not a lot of the skills are jumping out at me as particularly fun to use. Granted, I'm playing a Summoner, which typically doesn't use a lot of active skills. So far, I have a pair of wolves and an earth elemental running around with me. Before passing out last night, I also gained the ability to summon a wood nymph that has a bow and the access to several skills of her own; we'll see how that works out.
We're not done with act 1 yet, but we did encounter a pretty important boss. The three gorgons were actually pretty challenging due to massive health pools and healing spells. Surprisingly, they didn't have any sort of petrification spell at their disposal, which I thought was kind of the defining feature of a gorgon, but maybe in the Titan Quest mythology, only the highest rank gorgons can petrify.
Even though I just slept for 15 hours, I feel pretty weak and tired. I'm going to make some coffee and eat something and hopefully feel better. If I play Gungnir tonight, it'll probably be pretty late. I would definitely like to give it a try, but I'm really more in the mood to just relax and watch Voyboy for awhile.
