It would make the most sense for me to resume playing Final Fantasy X after that since I've been putting it off for so long. I purchased the HD remaster a few weeks back but I haven't played it a ton since then. The game seems fine, but it hasn't really captured my attention as much as I'd like. In recent years I've really become consumed with the idea of trying my hardest to finish every game I play, so I've been forced to sometimes stick to one game at a time. This is especially true now because of my job, even though it is part time. Even when I had nothing but free time, I had a hard time finishing off my entire backlog. I'm still glad that I seized the opportunity to finish off those early Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games, though.
Even though I know I should focus on Final Fantasy X after I finish up Alpha Gaiden, I've kind of had something else in mind lately. I've played (and finished) the majority of the Fire Emblem series, but there are still a few titles that lack a fan translation or only have one partially done. The DS remake of Mystery of the Emblem does not fit either of these criteria and I have not played it yet. If I remember correctly, the original Mystery of the Emblem was the third Fire Emblem title and was divided into two parts. The first part of the game was a remake of the original Fire Emblem and the second half picked up where that original game left off. I have to wonder if the DS remake retains both elements, considering the original game has already been remade for DS in the form of Shadow Dragon.
Still, I'd really love to try it, and I think I could definitely be in a Fire Emblem mood right now. I have plenty of time to play Final Fantasy X and I think I'm in a strategy RPG mood for now. As long as I finish Alpha Gaiden, I think I'll feel okay about it. If I manage to finish this Fire Emblem game (the name of the remake escapes me) then I'll definitely feel good about that. I still really need to finish Fuuin no Tsurugi, despite the fact that its translation has some flaws. Hell, Alpha Gaiden's translation is flawed too, but I'm definitely going to finish it.
